Anyone else love living in Mountlake Terrace?

I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Household incomes average around $101,404 in Mountlake Terrace. Homes are going for about $606,100 on average. The median home value here is around $606,100, which is pretty steep. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Anyone in a similar situation? Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Hot take but it exceeded my expectations. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a chef who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is challenging.

Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

As someone who grew up here, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. A lot has changed in the past few years though. healthcare used to be much wild but now it's pretty good.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.
