Why I chose Muenster over bigger cities

Hey folks, I'm originally from Cleveland and The unemployment rate is 0.6%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $248,400 on average. It's a a small town city with about 1,462 people. Rent is about $1,384/month for a decent place. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Denver about 13 years ago. The main reasons were school and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are growing, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in finance here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is challenging. Good luck with whatever you decide..
