Living in Mukilteo -the reality

Longtime lurker here, We're a young couple and Rent is about $2,127/month for a decent place. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 21,312, Mukilteo is a small town. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Springfield for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Four distinct seasons
- The dating scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. No regrets on my end..

As someone who grew up here, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's better than expected.
