Not sure if this has been asked before, but I'm single, late 30s, and Median household income is $84,096, which feels pretty solid for the area. The median home value here is around $190,400, which is actually reasonable. Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Pros:

Cons:
- Hot summers
- High property taxes
- Lack of diversity
- Far from major airports

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 6 years. Moved from Salt Lake City for retirement. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 2-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is decent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are better than expected. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Chain restaurants dominate. And weather can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**

**What I love:**
