Living in Mundelein -the reality
I've been here for 18 years and Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Should I be concerned? TIA!

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Austin about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Property taxes are high
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
