OK so I work in tech and Average temperature is around 56--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $1,955,200 on average. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Am I overthinking this? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. As someone who grew up here, it's improved dramatically in recent years. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good healthcare facilities
- The safety scene is decent
The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is better than expected in most areas.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The public transit is honestly tough and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value job market, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Not very walkable outside downtown.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
