Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and With a population of 158K, Murfreesboro is a mid-size city. Median household income is $76,241, which feels about average for the area. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. What are your go-to spots?

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in The Heights. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 13 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: average. Tons of options if you like Indian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
