Homes are going for about $79,600 on average. Does this match your experience? Any help is appreciated.

As someone who grew up here, it's been a really good experience overall. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much wild but now it's solid.

Bought a house here in 2017 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a writer, 51, moved here 4 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in The Heights and Maple Ridge, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Nightlife is limited
2. Can feel isolated
3. The cost of living situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- The Heights: Great for families. surprisingly good vibes, walkable.
- Maple Ridge: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is pricey. You can live comfortably on $40K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

I'm a social worker and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
