Is Murraysville good for remote workers?

Been meaning to ask this. Just moved here 11 months ago and Rent is about $1,667/month for a decent place. With a population of 17,307, Murraysville is a small town. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a small town city with about 17,307 people. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely improving and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (North) is manageable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I genuinely enjoy living here. Internet is tough in most areas.

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are solid, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 50, moved here 2 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Westside and The Heights, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally decent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Limited entertainment options
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The outdoor recreation situation is developing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Westside: Great for families. decent vibes, walkable.
- The Heights: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if traffic matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Came here for family and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The job market is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
