Random thought, It's a a small town city with about 17,307 people. The unemployment rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I work in government here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is pretty good. Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.
I've been here 12 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Moved here from Raleigh about 8 years ago. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Still getting used to cost of living but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
