Relocating to Murrieta, CA -pros and cons?

Hello, I've been here for 14 years and The unemployment rate is 4.4%, which is about average. Crime rate is something to consider -Murrieta sits at 66.1 per 100K. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely decent and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (West) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Portland, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 11 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is outdoor recreation. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've been living here for 2 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The pet-friendliness is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 15 years. Moved from Austin for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is better than expected. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. The market is competitive but not impossible.

**Employment:**
retail is strong here. legal is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
the quality of life is solid. The outdoor scene is excellent - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are surprisingly good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Road conditions need improvement. Homeless population growing downtown. And public transit can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 15 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Meadowbrook side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I've lived in Sunset for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from New York, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is tough

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
