Planning a move to Myers Corner -neighborhoods?

Hello, Military spouse here. With a population of 10,786, Myers Corner is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 10,786 people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Should I be concerned? Appreciate any input. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is cultural scene. Other than that, No regrets on my end..

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Austin it's challenging.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 15 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Bought a house here in 2016 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a software engineer, 32, moved here 3 years ago from New York. I've lived in Greenfield and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Good healthcare facilities
3. Close to major attractions
4. The people are generally surprisingly good - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Limited entertainment options
3. The pet-friendliness situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for retirees. improving vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from New York, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $40K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Dallas about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Not a lot of cultural diversity

Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are established, gas is pretty good.

Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The traffic scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Limited shopping options

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.

Used to live on the Highland side, now on the Pine Hills side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
