The good and bad of living in Myrtle Beach

I've been here for 17 years and Rent is about $1,132/month for a decent place. The median home value here is around $347,700, which seems about average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

My experience has been mostly positive. the quality of life is solid. The only thing I'd watch out for is outdoor recreation. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it exceeded my expectations. Schools in Sunset area are underrated. Kids love it here.
