Is Myrtle Point still affordable?
Hey, Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 15.2%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -Myrtle Point sits at 157.5 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 5.0%, which is about average. You can expect to pay around $710 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.
