Nampa housing prices -when will it stop?

I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 7.2%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $72,122 in Nampa. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Would love some local perspective. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 8 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Cedar Grove side vs the Springfield side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a pharmacist who relocated here from Boston about 11 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are developing, gas is average.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 24, moved here 12 years ago from Phoenix. I've lived in Pine Hills and Meadowbrook, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally better than expected - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Can feel isolated
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The cultural scene situation is established and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Pine Hills: Great for retirees. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Meadowbrook: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Phoenix, everything felt pretty good. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $90K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I've lived in South for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is improving

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Summers can be brutally hot

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for singles. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 14 years and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for work and stayed because I genuinely enjoy living here. The safety is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Bought a house here in 2024 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone down slightly since then.
