Nampa vs Minneapolis -which is better?
I'm single, late 30s, and Crime rate is something to consider -Nampa sits at 311.6 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 1.8%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. It's a a mid-size city city with about 106K people. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development.
Pros:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Walkable downtown
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events
Cons:
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Far from major airports
Let me know your thoughts. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
