Career opportunities in Nantucket, MA

Random thought, I'm originally from Los Angeles and Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. With a population of 10,837, Nantucket is a small town. Crime rate is something to consider -Nantucket sits at 237.0 per 100K. Poverty rate is 0.3%, which is pretty low. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value food scene, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely average and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (Pine Hills) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are underrated, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
