Living in Napa -the reality

First post here. Should I be concerned? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Hot take but it's been a really good experience overall. I know a lot of people disagree but after 2 years here, that's my honest assessment.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is average in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a social worker who relocated here from Denver about 9 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are competitive, gas is solid.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..
