Career opportunities in Naperville, IL

Random thought, I'm single, late 50s, and It's a a mid-size city city with about 149K people. Poverty rate is 3.0%, which is pretty low. Median household income is $150,937, which feels pretty solid for the area. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Am I wrong here? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it's been a really good experience overall. Compared to Boston it's tough.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Fairview. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
