Hey everyone, I relocated for work and You can expect to pay around $1,852 for rent here. The median home value here is around $509,900, which is pretty steep. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Worth the trade-offs? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

I work in marketing here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is challenging. No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Sunset side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in East for 12 years. Moved from Houston for work. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. real estate is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is decent - we have beaches within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. East schools are tough. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Chain restaurants dominate. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
