Alright, The median home value here is around $310,700, which seems about average. It's a a small town city with about 14,610 people. Rent is about $1,655/month for a decent place. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I've been living here for 15 years and I'd say I'm still on the fence after all this time. The cost of living is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Sunset. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Korean.
No regrets on my end..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Fairview for 3 years. Moved from Portland for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2018 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I love the pace of life here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Fairview schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not very walkable outside downtown. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 8/10. Give it a chance - it might surprise you.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from San Diego and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Maple Ridge. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in marketing. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 10 years and it's not perfect but it works for me. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

I've lived in Greenfield for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from LA, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- The weather scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
