Commute times in Nashua -how bad?

I'm a remote worker and With a population of 91,131, Nashua is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Nashua sits at 144.0 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 3.4%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $373,100 on average. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Hot take but it's exactly what I was looking for. I know a lot of people disagree but after 3 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. it's exactly what I was looking for. Compared to San Diego it's tough.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a chef, 30, moved here 10 years ago from Raleigh. I've lived in Eastside and Greenfield, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Lots of new development happening
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally average - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Winters are long and cold
2. Not very walkable outside downtown
3. The community vibe situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Eastside: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Greenfield: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Raleigh, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is stable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
