Curious what people think. It's a a smaller city city with about 91,131 people. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Worth the trade-offs? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.
I've been here 11 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is decent.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Fairview side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Pine Hills side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Denver and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Uptown. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in retail. If you're in tech you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.
Definitely worth checking out..

As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. school system used to be much manageable but now it's better than expected.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's not perfect but it works for me. The only thing I'd watch out for is weather. Other than that, Hope this helps!.
