Rent vs buy in Navarre -what makes sense?

Crime rate is something to consider -Navarre sits at 340.0 per 100K. With a population of 38,988, Navarre is a smaller city. The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $352,300 on average. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Walkable downtown
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Cold winters
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
- Chain restaurants dominate
Anyone in a similar situation? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 35, moved here 10 years ago from Salt Lake City. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good schools in most areas
2. Affordable housing options
3. Diverse dining options
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Far from beaches/mountains
3. The job market situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Salt Lake City, everything felt challenging. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are wild. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $90K-$110K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
