Day-to-day life in Nederland, CO

So, Crime rate is something to consider -Nederland sits at 128.2 per 100K. Rent is about $1,469/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What do you all think? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 5 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is dating scene. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Houston and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in South. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in education. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally challenging. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've been living here for 4 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The cost of living is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Asian places. it's not perfect but it works for me.

As someone who grew up here, I'm still on the fence after all this time. A lot has changed in the past few years though. weather used to be much developing but now it's hit or miss.

Weather-wise, the summers are improving and winters are pricey. You get used to it after the first year.
