Is Needham worth moving to in 2026?

Hello, My family moved here when I was a kid. The median home value here is around $1,146,000, which is pretty steep. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Any advice would be great. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 7 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in consulting. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like seafood.

No regrets on my end..
