Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Poverty rate is 8.7%, which is pretty low. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Any advice would be great. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 6 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's decent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Maple Ridge area are average. Kids love it here.

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's exactly what I was looking for.
