OK so The unemployment rate is 3.2%, which is pretty low. Homes are going for about $169,600 on average. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Am I wrong here? Appreciate any input. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Bought a house here in 2024 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

I've lived in Pine Hills for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The walkability scene is underrated
The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in South area are excellent. Kids love it here.
