Longtime lurker here, With a population of 37,589, New Albany is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -New Albany sits at 243.9 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. What would you do? The weather takes some getting used to. The weather takes some getting used to. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I work in construction here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is better than expected. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is decent
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
