Best coffee shops in New Albany?

The median home value here is around $150,000, which is actually reasonable. Homes are going for about $150,000 on average. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Worth the trade-offs? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Weather-wise, the summers are decent and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great Mexican places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely underrated and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. My neighborhood (Meadowbrook) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Salt Lake City, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Atlanta about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a writer who relocated here from Charlotte about 3 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Urban sprawl is real

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are stable, gas is surprisingly good.

Socially, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Happy to answer more specific questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in South. It's decent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in education. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
