Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a nurse who relocated here from Phoenix about 15 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is excellent.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

I'm a real estate agent and I've found there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cultural scene, you'll love it. The walkability is genuinely average and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. weather is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Atlanta about 4 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is solid.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value nightlife, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely average and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Midtown) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Limited high-paying job options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Hot take but the quality of life is solid. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.

Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The food scene is honestly decent and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

If you value public transit, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Downtown) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Road conditions need improvement.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Baltimore and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Eastside. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in real estate. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
