Why I chose New Albany over bigger cities

My partner and I are Average temperature is around 54--F, so expect cold winters. Rent is about $2,134/month for a decent place. Homes are going for about $728,200 on average. Poverty rate is 0.7%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $728,200, which is pretty steep. The suburbs are where most families end up. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Good job market
- Diverse community
- Strong sense of community
- Active local events

Cons:
- Rising rent prices
- Limited nightlife
- Lack of diversity
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Boring for young people
Anyone in a similar situation? Any help is appreciated. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Used to live on the Oak Park side, now on the Eastside side. Completely different vibe. it's exactly what I was looking for.
