What I wish I knew before living in New Baden

Military spouse here. With a population of 3,493, New Baden is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Am I overthinking this? Thanks for reading. The weather takes some getting used to.

I've lived in North for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Lots of new development happening
- The school system scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Limited high-paying job options

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
