Couple moving to New Bedford from out of state

Longtime lurker here, I've been here for 3 years and Rent is about $1,085/month for a decent place. Should I be concerned?

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want dating scene, then yeah this place is great. But if housing market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Bought a house here in 2015 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Meadowbrook side vs the Pine Hills side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are pretty good, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
