Just moved to New Bedford, any tips?
Hey everyone, I've been here for 5 years and Homes are going for about $324,400 on average. With a population of 101K, New Bedford is a mid-size city. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Am I overthinking this? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.
