What surprised you most about New Bedford?

You can expect to pay around $1,085 for rent here. Household incomes average around $56,025 in New Bedford. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. Would love some local perspective.

I've lived in Lakewood for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I have mixed feelings honestly. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Four distinct seasons
- Close to major attractions
- The job market scene is decent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Road conditions need improvement

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
