Day-to-day life in New Berlin, WI

Hey everyone, Just moved here 12 months ago and Homes are going for about $343,500 on average. Median household income is $97,414, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 2.5%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 47--F, so expect cold winters. The median home value here is around $343,500, which seems about average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Pros:
- Growing food scene
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Hot summers
- Limited nightlife
- Far from major airports
- Chain restaurants dominate
Worth the trade-offs? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 13 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is pretty good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
