Been meaning to ask this. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Rent is about $1,409/month for a decent place. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. What are your go-to spots? Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Boston about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are affordable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Hope this helps!.
