Best companies to work for in New Britain?

Hey, My partner and I are Rent is about $1,187/month for a decent place. It's a a smaller city city with about 73,301 people. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Thanks for reading. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely average and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Sunset) is competitive and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from San Francisco, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited shopping options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone about the same since then.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 8 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is hit or miss.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Pine Hills for 14 years. Moved from Raleigh for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth up a bit than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
real estate is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are competitive for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are hit or miss. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Not very walkable outside downtown. And pet-friendliness can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Good luck with whatever you decide.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Weather-wise, the summers are average and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

I've been in The Heights for 13 years. Moved from Denver for quality of life. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**

**Employment:**
hospitality is strong here. hospitality is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it was the best decision I ever made. The outdoor scene is hit or miss - we have ski resorts within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. The Heights schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited high-paying job options. Not a lot of cultural diversity. And cost of living can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 5/10. No regrets on my end.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
