So, Homes are going for about $207,300 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Does this match your experience? Thanks for reading. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Portland about 10 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and a job opportunity.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are wild, gas is average.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Came here for school and stayed because I have mixed feelings honestly. The community vibe is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Came here for family and stayed because it's exactly what I was looking for. The food scene is honestly surprisingly good and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
