Should I move to New Carrollton or stay in Houston?

Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $1,745 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What are your go-to spots? Appreciate any input.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in marketing. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like craft beer.

No regrets on my end..

Hot take but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. I know a lot of people disagree but after 4 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
