Hey folks, I'm a college student here and The unemployment rate is 3.3%, which is pretty low. Poverty rate is 14.8%, which is around average. Household incomes average around $48,977 in New Castle. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. What do you all think? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2015 and the quality of life is solid. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
