I grew up here but left for a while. You can expect to pay around $698 for rent here. Household incomes average around $41,478 in New Castle. Homes are going for about $72,000 on average. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The suburbs are where most families end up. Anyone in a similar situation? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Weather-wise, the summers are underrated and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for cost of living and stayed because it's been a really good experience overall. The weather is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
