Military spouse here. It's a a small town city with about 21,727 people. Homes are going for about $72,000 on average. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. What neighborhoods would you suggest? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Came here for weather and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The food scene is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Baltimore about 8 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Decent public transit for the size
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Road conditions need improvement
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is excellent.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
