I'm originally from Albuquerque and Poverty rate is 3.7%, which is pretty low. It's a a smaller city city with about 34,133 people. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Am I overthinking this? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a writer who relocated here from Baltimore about 9 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Active local events and festivals
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Limited shopping options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are developing, gas is decent.
Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..
