How is New Haven for outdoor activities?

First post here. Crime rate is something to consider — New Haven sits at 895.1 per 100K. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Any help is appreciated. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

My experience has been mostly positive. I love the pace of life here. The only thing I'd watch out for is nightlife. Other than that, No regrets on my end..
