Job hunting in New Haven — tips?

So, I'm a teacher here and With a population of 133K, New Haven is a mid-size city. It's a a mid-size city city with about 133K people. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast — some good, some not so much. Has anyone dealt with this? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.
