Remote worker thinking about New Haven

Hey folks, My family moved here when I was a kid. With a population of 133K, New Haven is a mid-size city. Poverty rate is 18.3%, which is higher than I expected. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Does this match your experience? Thanks! There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.
