The good and bad of living in New Haven

Been meaning to ask this. I'm retired and Household incomes average around $53,771 in New Haven. Median household income is $53,771, which feels on the lower side for the area. Poverty rate is 18.3%, which is higher than I expected. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is average in most areas.

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in East area are average. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is improving in most areas.
