Anyone else love living in New Iberia?

Anyone else feel this way? Average temperature is around 70--F, so the weather is moderate. Homes are going for about $150,300 on average. Rent is about $878/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -New Iberia sits at 290.1 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Friendly people
- Nice parks and trails
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons:
- Traffic can be terrible
- Limited public transit
- Not enough green space
Am I overthinking this? The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 7 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Westside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

I'm a nurse and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.
